Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information ZoneMade ("we", "us") collects when you visit https://zonemade.com, how it is used, and the choices and rights you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate the site, understand aggregate readership, and fund the site through advertising.
Information we collect
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
- Analytics data. If analytics is active, we collect aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate location at city level, device and browser category, referral source). We do not use this data to identify individuals.
- Information you send us. If you email us or subscribe to our newsletter, we receive the information you provide (such as your email address) and use it only for that purpose.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site may set or allow the following categories of cookies:
- Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners to serve and measure ads (see the next section).
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish visitors and sessions in aggregate statistics.
- Consent cookies that remember the privacy choices you made in our consent banner.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site remains fully readable without cookies.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services are available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent management
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent banner provided by a Google-certified consent management platform (Google's Privacy and messaging tools). It lets you consent to or refuse the use of cookies for personalized advertising before any such cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time by reopening the privacy settings from the banner link. Where consent for personalized ads is declined, non-personalized ads may still be shown; these may use cookies solely for frequency capping, aggregate reporting, and fraud prevention.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are useful in aggregate. GA4 uses cookies and similar identifiers, does not log or store full IP addresses, and we do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by declining analytics in the consent banner where it is shown.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
For visitors in the EEA and UK, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent for advertising and analytics cookies, collected via the consent banner.
- Legitimate interests for security logging, abuse prevention, and keeping the site operational.
- Performance of a contract or steps at your request when you subscribe to the newsletter or contact us.
Your rights (EEA and UK visitors)
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data rectified;
- have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah) may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising as those terms are defined by state law. We do not sell personal information for money. Cookies used for personalized advertising may constitute "sharing" under California law; you can opt out through the consent or privacy options link shown to US visitors, through the Google opt-out links above, or by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. We do not knowingly process sensitive personal information and we do not discriminate against visitors who exercise their privacy rights.
Data retention
Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form for up to 14 months. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our guides link to external sources, manufacturers, and retailers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their policies before providing them any information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site, our tools, or the law changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
